The Chest of Holding is a custom furniture framework designed to be tailored to your collection during the design phase. While every piece shares a signature aesthetic, the final dimensions are entirely up to you. Whether you need a specific number of drawers, a specialized shelf height for binders, or a unique footprint for a specific room, we build your unit as a single, handcrafted commission. Tailoring Your Build

Scalable Dimensions

The configurations above are just starting points. The Chest of Holding system is built-to order; you can increase the number of columns or rows of drawers to expand your storage to fit your space. Whether you need a low-profile unit or a floor-to-ceiling catalog, we scale the internal support structure to match.

Functional Shelving

Integrated shelving can be added to the top or bottom of any unit to house the items that don't fit in a drawer. This shelf space is customized based on your specific needs, with options including:

  • Optimized for Binders: Built to the exact height needed to keep your TCG portfolios and 3-ring binders upright and organized.
  • Open Gallery: A large, unobstructed space for display pieces.
  • Split-Level: Includes an adjustable shelf to double your surface area; perfect for deck boxes, playmat tubes, and accessories.

Drawer Specs

While the exterior footprint defines how the piece fits your room, the internal specs define how it fits your collection. Beyond the overall configuration, every drawer is individually customizable—from the column count and depth to the hardware that brings it all together.

  • Drawer Divisions

    The number of internal columns determines your total storage capacity. We typically recommend 4 to 10 columns per drawer to maintain a balanced weight and ensure smooth operation over the life of the piece.

  • Drawer Depth

    To accommodate different room and collection sizes, drawers are available in 15", 18", or 21" depths. When planning your space, please note that the finished furniture footprint will be approximately 3" deeper than the internal drawer measurement.

  • Signature Hardware

    Our standard builds feature high-quality, Italian-made pulls in a Graphite finish, also available in Gold or Stainless-steel. As every piece is bespoke, I am happy to source and install any custom hardware that fits your specific aesthetic.

Wood Selection

The Chest of Holding is available in four signature hardwoods, each chosen for its structural integrity and distinct character. Because every piece is crafted from natural wood, the grain patterns and color tones are unique to your specific build, ensuring your commission is truly one-of-a-kind.

    The most popular choice. Walnut offers a rich, dark chocolate tone with elegant grain swirls. It provides a sophisticated, "library" feel and serves as a stunning contrast to colorful card art.

    Known for its warmth and smooth texture. Cherry begins as a light pinkish-tan and deepens into a rich, reddish-brown over time. It is a "living" wood that grows more beautiful as it ages in your home.

    The minimalist’s choice. Maple is exceptionally dense and durable, featuring a light, creamy color and a subtle, clean grain. It is perfect for brightening a room or achieving a modern, airy aesthetic.
